LE CASTELLET, France — The first race of the Ferrari Challenge Europe Trofeo Pirelli season took place at Le Castellet, where Sergio Paulet secured his first overall win of 2026. Gilles Renmans came a very close 2nd in the Trofeo Pirelli class, with Max Mugelli coming 3rd in class. Although, with only three drivers in the top class, a podium was guaranteed unless one of the Trofeo Pirelli drivers failed to finish. In the Trofeo Pirelli AM class, it was Michael Verhagen who took the top spot, with Danilo Del Favero and Herbert Geiss taking the last positions on the podium in Race 1 at Le Castellet.

Driver of the Race: Sergio Paulet (Trofeo Pirelli)

I mean, how could the driver of the race not be Sergio Paulet. Not only did he dominate the entire weekend, but he also had to stay consistent throughout the race to hold on to his lead. Gilles Renmans was closing the gap at the tail end of the race, but Paulet’s perfect pace management meant he had enough of an advantage to win the drag race to the line on the final lap. Paulet said he was feeling nervous in the car during the last lap, but the Spaniard held on to get his first win of the Ferrari Challenge Europe Trofeo Pirelli 2026 season.
