LE CASTELLET, France — Le Castellet didn’t disappoint in the Ferrari Challenge Europe Coppa Shell classes, with Jan Sandmann taking the overall win. Lukas Azzato was top dog in the Coppa Shella AM class, after a consistent drive saw him battle his way to 3rd overall. On the podium in the Coppa Shell class was Fons Scheltema and Sven Schomer, with Boris Gideon and Andreas Konig securing a podium position in the Coppa Shell AM class.

Driver of the Race: Lukas Azzato (Coppa Shell AM)
My driver of the race in Race 1 at Le Castellet in Ferrari Challenge Europe Coppa Shell series is Lukas Azzato. The Swiss driver worked hard in the race to finish third overall and win his class. Azzato had to fight past Sven Schomer in the higher Coppa Shell class, and fend off a very quick Boris Gideon in the AM class. Azzato raced hard and clean, something that a lot of drivers in Ferrari Challenge sometimes struggle with. Gideon was a close runner-up for both the class win and my driver of the race award - which I’m sure he’s much more gutted to miss out on!
