Ferrari Driver Academy: Dino Beganovic silences Rafael Camara in F2 Australia Qualifying

After an impressive performance from Dino Beganovic and Rafael Camara in the earlier Formula 2 Australia Practice session, they didn’t disappoint in Qualifying.

After a dramatic Formula 2 qualifying session in Australia, which was temporarily red flagged, Dino Beganovic eventually finished the session in pole position with a 1:28.695. His Ferrari Driver Academy teammate, Rafael Camara, came home in 6th, recording a 1:29.143 at Albert Park in Melbourne. It was Camara who was more impressive in the earlier practice session, but when it matters, Beganovic showed the Formula 3 champion who’s boss in the all-important qualifying session.

Dino Beganovic Sends A Statement To Rafael Camara

As mentioned, I was very confident heading into the Formula 2 qualifying session in Melbourne after both of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy prospects looked competitive in practice. However, I didn’t expect Dino Beganovic to be as amazing as he was, claiming pole position in the dying seconds of the session. I had my doubts over the Swedish-Bosnian driver coming into the weekend, but he has silenced me and also sent a powerful message to Rafael Camara. Camara also looked great, getting sixth overall in qualifying, but after the opening practice session, it seemed like he had the upper hand on Beganovic. However, Dino had other ideas, and he now has an amazing chance to win the Feature Race and also battle against Camara in the Sprint Race thanks to the reverse grid rule in Formula 2. I can't wait!
