Formula 2 2026: Which Drivers Are In Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy?
Without Formula 2, many of the current drivers in F1 wouldn’t be racing, which is why the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy has two entries in 2026.
As many of you will know, Formula 2 is an integral part of the Formula 1 ecosystem, with many of today’s stars coming from the single-seater series. It’s for this reason that the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy has two drivers competing on the 2026 F2 grid. Both Dino Beganovic and Rafael Camara will represent Ferrari in Formula 2 during the 2026 season, but they will be competing for separate teams.
Dino Beganovic is driving for DAMS Lucas Oil and Rafael Camara competes under the Invicta Racing banner this year. However, Beganovic has extra responsibility in 2026, as he is once again a test driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team. While he won’t be on the F1 grid this year, it’s clear that the Swedish driver is a highly respected prospect within the Ferrari ecosystem - but is his position under threat?
Is 2026 A Make Or Break Year For Dino Beganovic?
As mentioned, Dino Beganovic is both a Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 test driver and a Formula 2 competitor for DAMS Lucas Oil, with the Ferrari Driver Academy backing the 19-year-old in F2. Beganovic is no stranger to the F2 grid, competing in the series since 2024. The Swede drove for DAMS Lucas Oil in his debut season, which only consisted of four races, before switching to Hitech TGR in 2025. The 2025 campaign was his first full season in Formula 2, but Beganovic was already acting as a test driver for the Ferrari F1 team.
Despite his fast rise through the Ferrari ranks, Dino Beganovic only finished seventh in the 2025 Formula 2 Drivers’ Championship standings. In his 27 races last season, Beganovic secured one win and four podiums, bagging 116 points. While these results aren’t bad, I would imagine Ferrari will be hoping for more wins this season if the 19-year-old is to prove himself as the “real deal” before entering the Formula 1 paddock. Beganovic’s 2026 Formula 2 campaign will have even more pressure this season, thanks to the arrival of the extremely talented Rafael Camara…
Can Rafael Camara Outshine His Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy Rival In 2026?
If there is one Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy star to watch this season, it’s Rafael Camara. The Brazilian is making his Formula 2 debut in 2026, competing against fellow Scuderia Academy driver Dino Beganovic. As mentioned, Beganovic is familiar with this level, so Camara has an opportunity to make a huge statement this season. There’s no doubt that if the 20-year-old can outperform Beganovic in F2, he will become the leading prospect at Ferrari.
The positive news for Ferrari fans is that both drivers are highly talented, so having them compete in F2 will be amazing when drawing comparisons between the two drivers. However, Beganovic must be ready for a fight, as Camara isn’t too familiar with losing. The Brazilian is the current Formula 3 Drivers’ World Champion, winning four races and getting five podiums across 19 races in 2025. Rafael Camara secured 166 points during the 2025 F3 season, beating second-placed Nikola Tsolov by 42 points.
However, whether you’re routing for Dino Beganovic or Rafael Camara, the 2026 Formula 2 season will be a thrilling contest to watch from a Ferrari fan’s perspective, so I for one can’t wait for the season to start! The first race takes place in Melbourne, and you can find the complete 2026 F2 Schedule below.
